Thats like a 207 if I remember right.

Man you would crap yourself with some of this stuff down here! A 900 lbs 4x4 spinning all 4 tires at 100 yards and still gaining or a 1000lbs machine doing wheel stands in reverse just poping the throttle or big 3 sxs with clutch kits and proper tune and fueling system setups! Ive made some stuff thats stupid fast! As we say, "we can make it do anything you want it to"
 
Back to the thread at hand.. If you have enuf power behind the machine you don't have to try to pull the front tires!
Being able to power wheelie in 3rd gear is an awesome feeling. lol
 
dont power wheelie, its not predictable enough, always clutch up hard and learn when to hit the rear brake just enough to stop the upward momentum, oh and best advise is have someone film you, because the balance point is much higher then you think when you are learning, you will feel like you are all the way up when in reality your only a few inches lol.

this is me on a street bike, much harder to wheelie then a quad

Show off^^. I'm not too big into wheelies. Never been 100% comfy doing them. Hard on the axle bearings, too. Hill climbs are my thing.
 
blasters would be gutless to a guy riding a 490 warrior haha. they are no slouches when built right though. the only thing i feel that hurts them is the gearing though. my 4mil is an arm stretcher though. hell my stock stroke ported 06 blaster is a hand full too.

again though, they are a kiddy bike compared to a 490 2 smoke. lol


btw, back to thread topic. learning to wheelie is a time consuming effort. you gotta know the bike and the best way to balance it while working the foot brake. back when i was riding mine regularly i could pull it up in 3rd and ride all the way through 6th for a little ways. not perfect, but a lot more practice would help.

Ive never been a fan of clutching to stand it up, thats a great way to smoke a clutch, find a hump or a roll and try in the middle of second with a foot in the bar, best way to learn

you'll never burn the clutch that way, its not slipping it what so ever, its rev and enguage clutch, wet clutches are resilient, when i race mx, i ran a 125 and in the soft sand turns you had to "fan" the clutch to keep the rev's up to maintain speed, i DID replace the clutch yearly just cuz, but it never "needed" it.

All of your experience and advice works great for a bike, not quads, dumping the clutch is extremely hard on clutches us these, I would know I burn one up in 8-11 months, if you dont turn it by slamming it to full engagement with the tires moving0rpm and the motor turning2-3k either the clutch or the basket is gonna take a pounding! This coming from a guy who has seen more then one basket explod from improper use. Argue all you want, ive been there done that and I have all of the fried parts to show for it! Dont do it! Rolling starts off of a roll are twice as easy to control and learn fanece.

we have 2 stock 400ex's never maintained, never changed clutches, and 6 years now been used only for wheelies for days straight, never burnt a single clutch, maybe its your technique, maybe its a warrior, not sure, but plenty of atv's being "stunted" all day long where we ride the street bikes, and never ever seen a basket explode, clutch slip ect.

I wasn't really tell'n him to try power wheelies.. But pop'n the fronts from a dead stop is the best way to learn IMO.
That's why I was tell'n him to power over at half throttle, to save gett'n carried away.

The best way to learn is to just get on the horse, and kick it hard!! lol

I rode LT250's most of my life. I've owned 2 of them..
They'll eat blasters for a snack. lol

the problem with powering it up when learning is that it comes up real slow before hitting the balance point, once you hit the balance point, your going pretty fast, and if your not good with hitting the rear brake, your gonna power right over lol. when i used to power wheelie, i would constantly have arm pump and get tired cuz i was fighting it up, then fighting to keep it from flipping backwards.


any yes dead stop, clutch it straight up is the best way and safest way, if ya go to far up, you just hit the grab bar and jump off
 
I can get my raptor up in first gear without popping the clutch but it winds out pretty quick and it's pretty hard to shift whille standing up. Stock 350 doesn't have enough power to lift and hold the front end up with ease.Try learning them going up a slight hill,thats what I was doing.
