hey yall. well it seems like i am on a shopping spree lately at my local shop (im sure they dont mind though). today my girlfriend paid off her fmf powercore 4 exhaust system for the 300ex, i picked up my moose fly clutch perch/lever setup, moose parking brake blockoff plate, and a blue bar pad for my new pro taper contour bars. i also got some new pro taper dual density half waffle grips and a white pro taper bar pad for the old se bars to put on my girlfriend's 300ex.

im also waiting on a check to clear into my bank account to order in a set of front and rear works shocks and new air filter setup with moose adapter, k&n filter, and outerwears (for the warrior). i didnt get to put the clutch setup or blockoff plate on today since i ran into problems with the throttle on the 300ex- the damn mounting screw holding it to the bars stripped out! i had to take the throttle cover off, disconnect the cable, cut off the stock grip, and slide the throttle off and then reconnect everything (easier said than done)! also have to relocate the key switch on the 300 and mess around with the front brake perch and all the control cables to make sure everthing fits right and isnt flopping around and trim the plastic stuff hanging from around the back of the headlight! then i will get to the warrior! damn my work is never done. ill get some pics when i get everything finished, so stay tuned! let me know what you all think!

you mean the handlebar plastic cover, right? yeah they ****** suck! it covers up the throttle and brake stuff, so it would be a pain in the ass to work on it b/c you would have to take it off first to work on that ****, then put it back on. now i just have to decide where to put the key switch. left or right side of the quad (think as if you were sitting on it). im thinking on the right side (brake lever side). any ideas? maybe something trick?

If she doesn't turn it on and off often, a good spot to hide it is under the seat. gives it a nice clean look with out the hole for the key and all. And it will make someone a little aggitated if they are lookin for the key spot, and can't find it readily. I know they make kits to do it with banshee's (I think it's a banshee that has the kit).

right on. i never though about that. ill check that out and see if i can find (or make) some space under the seat. only thing is though, that its not just the seat that comes off, but the whole rear fender too!

I like mine on the right. I always pull and hold the clutch in for some reason and turn the key on. I guess that way when it starts I am ready to roll...

That makes little sense in my mind, since turning the key isn't like a car... you have a separate "Start" button..... or are you holding the clutch and pressing the "Start" button (gawd this sounds like Windows troubleshooting haha) and turning the key at the same time??

yeah, i think ill put it on the right side (opposite the clutch handle side). makes sense to me since thats where the warrior's key switch is. anyone ever thought about just removing the key switch and hooking up a toggle switch under the seat? i thought about it, but not sure how well it would work and it would leave a hole in the hood plastic. oh well, going over to the land to work on them some more. later

If mine was under the seat I might get tired of taking the seat off to turn it off. Then sometimes I would probably forget to turn it off and drain the battery.

Damn nice... and pelphrey mine isnt even under my seat and i just forgot to do it 2 nights ago and im ready to go to school and im like shitttt i hope i turned my key off and here to find out didnt so it was on like 10 hours so i gotta check the voltage on it to see if its OK

Yes that has happened to my many times. I have had to replace the battery once before. But now I invested in a battery tender. Leave it on the battery for about a day and I am good to go again.

well i just cleaned my atv and check my bat and it seem alright so ima check the voltage a little later to see if i need to charge it...

well i finally got the honda buttoned up and put the blockoff plate and clutch lever on the warrior today. unfortunately, i forgot my camera at home. i was in a hurry because i have to work tonight and wanted to get everthing done and ride a little bit. ill get pics when i mess with it again. that will probably be thursday night before work or friday morning when i get off work. works front and rear shocks and new filter kit coming in thursday afternoon! just cant ****** wait!

yeah i checked my battery about a week or 2 ago before rusty and i went riding at deepwater. luckily my grandpa had some distilled water because the levels in the cells were really low! now its topped up and ready to go. its kinda weird riding with the thumb throttle now (after the twist) and its really touchy. kinda scary trying to wheelie with all the power in it now. the honda on the other hand is a freakin wheelie machine! just has k&n and jetting done, but will have fmf powercore4 system on it soon. it was really cool b/c i havent really tried wheelies before and when i was trying it on the 300ex it was easy. at one point i found the balance point and i could really tell! really cool. the warrior on the other hand it a bitch to pull up. my arms might have been tired, but it seems you have to rev it a little higher to get it up and im afraid im going to dump it if i give it more throttle. well, just gotta keep practicing. ill get pics of the new stuff when it comes in and i put it on. later

the shocks, air filter setup, and moose bumper (for the honda) are in and on! first the honda. well, my girlfriend had her heart set on this moose pro-plate bumper, but they didnt make one for the 300ex, but they did for the 400ex. after measuring the mounts on a 300ex and 400ex, we discovered we could make it work with some spacers and slightly longer bolts. so we put it on today.

it all looks pretty damn goon IMO. dyno tuning will be done tomorrow and she'll be ready to ride (girlfriend and the quad!) now the warrior. works at-steeler fronts (w/o rezzies, can add them later if i want) and quadstar rear shock w/remote rezzy. its got a nice stainless braided line on it too, so it looks very nice. heres some before and after pics.

Well, what do you all think. i gotta ride the shocks and see how i like them. then ill set the rebound, preload and everthing to my liking and write a review on them.

Nice clean parts on a nice and dirty quad. Your gfs 300ex is looking good, bumper and bars and exhaust. Them shocks look really nice. Did you buy a crank case filter also???

But all in all the quads are looking nice. Time to go have a good time..

thanks. well, i just took the warrior to the car wash with a bottle of simple green and a scrub brush, so it looks a lot better now. unfortunately, as soon as i got it home (after washing, scrubbing, and even drying) it started to sprinkle! **** **** **** **** ****! <-- my actual words! luckily, i had a tarp in the garage and was able to get it on before it started raining harder. good thing is that it doesnt look like its raining really hard, so i might be able to try out this new silicone detailer spray soon. my buddy at the shop told me that this stuff is the bomb and i guess (after you clean and dry your quad) you spray this stuff on and buff it and its supposed to help keep mud and dirt from sticking. i guess it contains silicone, so it should work really well. yeah my gf is really happy about her new bumper, exhaust, and (my old) pro taper se bars. those bars made so much difference! its like night and day. im thinking about taking the headlight off, but i dont know if i want to mess with the wiring up there and relocate the neutral and reverse lights. pain in the ass moving the key switch as it was. it wasnt too hard to move the lights on the warrior, so we will have to see. ill get some more pics when i get her shined up (honda needs washed too). might put it in a new thread though since this one is starting to get cluttered with pics. what do ya think?

oh i forgot to mention, i didnt get a crankcase filter. i need to though. can i pick one up at autozone or o'reillys? also, do they just fit up to the stock hose, or do i need a new one? thanks.

I bought a cheap-o crankcase filter from autozone but I had to visit 2 of them before I found one. I will eventually order the matchng K&N filter and they can be bought off ebay for 10 bucks or more. Otherwise they are 20 something.

You can possible buy an elbow that has 2 different size ends on it. One size for the hose and the other for the filter. I would use an elbow when I drill a hole in my air boz for it.

Yep surprise us with a new thread....

right on. yeah it really doesnt look like the crankcase breather hose is long enough to reach the airbox. might have to get a new one. well, im off to upload pics and post them in another thread. later
