I just put a new timing chain and cam gear in my 87 warrior and now its making a high pitch noise from the top end around the cam gear.
To remove my flywheel i use a puller and i tourqued everything that needed to be tourqued.my timing marks were all ligned up.
do you think i over tighened the cam gear or something.:argh:
Does anyone have any ideas for me?

sounds like you did not release the tensioner when you installed the chain?

+1 kinda what i was thinkin'.....the new chain will be much tighter than the old one...and the noise is the chain rubbing against the delvin plastic tensioner pad....hopefully you did not groove it badly....

Peace,
Jebby

did u reinstall it with the tensioner pushed all the way in without the big bolt it?

Cam bearing on the outs?

High pitched noise? Not the regular ticking, but like a squeak sound?
