well, is there any way you could get a part time job, i.e.- will anyone hire you at 15 or will your parents let you work and go to school? if that is possible and you can handle it, i would try that. good luck

He is working, he just doesn't like that I won't let him blow ALL his cash on the quad....

HA HA HA! thats a great picture! well buddy, sounds like you just gotta try to save up (or do some serious ass kissing!) like i said, try taking the rear shock out and increasing the preload. if that doesnt work, get an aftermarket rear shock. with the little amount of time i have put on my new shocks, i can already tell they ride a lot smoother! just a side note though, if you increase your preload in the rear, it is not going to bottom out as easy, but it is going to ride rougher over bumps. just something to think about.

ok the shock is out (tottally forgetting i need preset wrenches) but my buddies at the dealer said they could hook me up

all i need to do is loosen the top ajuster and tighten the bottom one and then bump up the top (smaller ) one snug against it?

yep. loosen the top (smaller) ring, crank down the bottom (larger) ring to where you want it (just dont go past the specs in the clymer manual) and then tighten the top right back down onto the bottom ring to lock it in place. good luck

You guys got it backwards, you need to loosen the bottom ring, and turn the top one towards the far end of the shock to tighten it, then re-tighten the bottom one.

I'm not sure why you took the shock out, I did mine with the shock mounted without a problem, I just had to take off the rear plastics and airbox to get better access.

which way do you have your shock turned? the adjustment rings are at the top right?! the top ring is a sort of lock ring and the bottom one is used to adjust it, right? got pics of this?

Rings are at the bottom. I don't have any pics, but if you need them I can get some up tomorrow.

nope, im calling bs. i just put my stock rear shock on ebay. its sitting in a box on my bed right now. i just looked at it and where the rezzy connects to the shock is where the rings are. this end goes in the top mount. i think i got a pic, hold on. here we go.

in the second pic, you can see the rezzy hanging down on the right side by the swingarm (right behind the brake rotor) if it went in the other way around, as soon as your unloaded your suspension (i.e. jump or getting off the quad) it would pull on the rezzy and line and screw it up. not trying to step on your toes or anything man, but disagree.

and yes, i know my swingarm is dirty in that pic. i have since cleaned the hell out of it and it looks much better.

Aight my bad, you got the right idea. Loosen the top one, tighten down the bottom one. It's been a while since I messed with mine. I guess it was my cousin's lt250r that had the threads on the bottom part.

ok right on. diff quad=diff shocks. all that being said...
I WIN!!! lol j/k ;)

thanks , i was just having one of those overactive brain farts....hopefully i can get to my buddys at the dealership so i can get a preload wrench

yeah, 2xtreme i know we are on the same team. im just playin. :) let us know how your shock feels after you adjust it warriorspeed. just remember, its probably going to be rougher and dont go less than the specs in the clymer manual. good luck
