I paid 42 dollars a year for basic liability on my Honda 550.

Shop around. And GET A LIGHT BIKE. Over 450 Lbs is classed a "Heavy" in NY, and insured as such.

Also mention NO MODS - its completely stock! They asked if I had nitrous; I wonder how much it would of gone up for me if I said yes lolol... If you take an ATV safety course that will also drop your rates by about 10%! I will be taking a safety course soon with a group of friends but for other reasons...

Down here they give you a hundred bucks for getting ATV safety certified! Not sure who gives it to you but it is either the National Forest Service or the manufacturer. You have to be certified before you can volunteer to work on the trails. Good thing about that is that you can go to the work days and ride then even during the closed months (Jan-Apr). And their insurance will cover you in case of an accident as long as you're certified. I was planning on taking it but it will have to wait until I can ride again. Maybe I'm taking it a little late....lol
