well, i'm about to put my .40 over topend together and i want a je piston. where is the best place to buy these and also all i can find are the 10.50:1 pistons. i notice that deadlast has the 11:1 and i have seen the 12:1 style. im thinking that i'd rather have the 11, will 12 require a stronger starter?

it should start just fine with a 12:1 piston but you will have to run race gas with that so i would go with the 10.50:1 so you can run pump gas in it

12:1 would require you to mix 93 with race gas like 110 or 114 octane, but it would be alot more peppier. i got my 10.50:1 JE from Advanced machining.

My 11: 1 was custom milled. Its an older JE, they only made a handful of them 11:1 and I was lucky enough to snag one up. Go with the 10.5:1 and still run 93. Unless you can get cam2 easily and frequently, then 12:1 would be a cool option.

i've still been thinking of going with the 12:1 and getting the whole piston/gasket kit from Vito's for $175. i have access to some 100 or 110 race gas at the local airport here in town. would that be optimal for the setup? other than costing more i figure i could swing it because i don't ride very much anyway.

what kind of riding do you do bc you will not get more hp out of the 12:1 you will only get more tq so i would go with the 10.50:1 and see if you can get one that is lighter bc it will rev faster

if you call je i believe they will custom make a piston for you. im sure its not cheap but a 14:1 setup would be one of a kind lol
