i have replaces the ignition coil, solenoid, starter, plug, fuse, and i tested the stater and pickup/pulse coils and they are fine. i have checked the main and handlebar switches, they are up to specs. so the manual says if all that is fine replace the cdi. well the fucked up part is that it is an 87. and 87 parts are hard to come by and they cost more than the quad itself. so is there a way to fix/test the cdi???? btw still no spark :p

There is no known way to test a CDi other than putting it on another bike to see if it works.

Not sure there is any other way to do it. You need to spend some money.

lol im done with this thing. im parting it out or selling whole. pm me if you want anything off of it. im gonna put my money into my banshee haha

Before you do that. Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to buy a newer wiring harness and cdi box? I am not 100% sure, but it would be worth checking out.

Actually just did a quick search. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-04-War...Parts_Accessories&hash=item41718806cf&vxp=mtr

It still isn't the cheapest thing ever, but it's 100 bucks less and if you ever had another cdi problem a replacement would be easy to get. Also, I wouldn't be too surprised if you were able to bid on it and get it for 125+ shipping. So around $160 for all of that is a damn good deal if you ask me.

thanks for checking on that. but my banshee is my pride and joy and i honestly cant see myself riding this as much so im getting rid of it.

Fair enough. If I had a nice Banshee, I wouldn't ride my 4 stroke either probably.

I need some parts for an '87 warrior. If you decide to part it out please contact me.
