maier plastic skid

anyone know where or if u can still get the maier plastic skid plate? I like it cause its lightweight and slides easily on logs and rocks

never even heard of a plastic skid i would think it would break pretty easily also. And if you want one thats light weight just get an aluminum one.

Did you check Maier's web site? (www.maier-mfg.com) I just looked and they have them in stock if you enter the model and year, it's the last item on the second page. On sale for $40, that's half off! Better get it now if you want it, they're probably discontinuing them.

Personally I don't like the plastic skids, they don't offer the same protection that even a thin aluminum or steel one does, but they are light, they do slide over rocks better than aluminum, and they're pretty cheap. They just don't stand up to the rugged terrain real well. Definitely better than the stock one though (nothing)

Deal alert for anybody thinking about new plastics, Maier has some closeouts listed that might be worth looking at, they're mostly odd colors (i see orange and silver) but they're dirt cheap for new plastics.

Sweet I mustve missed them and I can attest for the maier plastic skid I ride the **** out of my bikes and old warrior had one never gave a problem even broke weld on prm swinger skid nothin but scratches on maier skid. Ill post some hare scramble pics wen get warrior build done maybe video to show some abuse lol

I'm interested. Any one have any pics? How thick are these things? I ride in some really rocky and rough terrain, if i buy it and it cracks, I'll be super pissed. I need more info before I buy.

i would say about quarter inch thick and truthfully mounting hardware weighs more than skid. i have ridden chadwick mo with one and thats almost rock crawling in some spots
