yeah... i'm bout to order a mid range cam and a 35 pound flywheel (to help turn the 31's)
I've got to pull the transmission because i managed the shatter the mounting points for the 4x4 shifter (i gont have 4x4 or low range right now) and i've got to replace the front and rear seal in it and the transfer case.

other than the damage i've not really done anything with it because i've got to a happy point with it and been driving the **** out of it. BUT if you need any info or have questions on the '86 just lmk :) yota's are my thing :)

i was out wheelin around with some friends and owning they're ***** and i was in 2low and found a spot i couldn't get through in 2low so i jumped out locked the hubs and when i got back in i threw it in reverse and backed up about 4feet to set the hubs and when i pushed it down into 4low i heard a loud pop and no 4wd so i crawled under it and the mounting points for the bracket the holds the shifter blew all to hell so i have a buddy get in and hold the shifter in the 4low position and i grab a hammer and gently tap the shift rod that controls the front wheels into the low position and wala i continue to whip the **** out of my friends jeeps and IFS yotas. lucky me the tranny in my truck has a cast iron case so i can weld the mounting points back together until i make the leap to dual shifter conversion.

about the sound i'm shooting for on my truck :D

it's a mid range cam with a effective RPM range of 1800-5000rpm's. The specs a .433 lift on intake and exhaust with a duration of [email protected]. stock 20r and 22r cams are 193’ duration .393 lift. so it's quite a bit bigger than stock. plus the use of a after market cam allows you to re adjust the valve/rocker tolerance from .12 intake - .14 exhaust to .6 intake - .8 exhaust this is also giving you that much more valve lift :). coupled with a very free flow exhaust you get a nice lopy idle. PLUS it's not all about the lift to get a lopy idle. cams a advertised as "smooth idle" and "rough idle" but the thing is the rough idle cams in a 100% balanced engine will idle about like a smooth idle cam in a unbalanced engine.
the .433 lift cam with my stock crank, harmonic balancer, and the 35 pound flywheel should give me a nice lope to my idle and will increase my power across the whole rpm range by quite a bit :)

i'd love to run that cam BUT it's a .525 lift cam and i've not got the money to spend on stainless valves and seats and titanium dual springs it takes to run that big a cam in the lil 20r

I had a 85 yota sr5 longbed in highschool my dad gave me when my buick blew up. Lol when I sold my yota for $300 it had almost 500,000 on it, only problem the motor had was a burnt valve but still drove the **** out of it. Lol. Nice yota!!!

welp i bought new rotors for the front. and i had been noticing a odd noise from the front passenger side when in 4x4 and backing up so while i had the wheel off i took the hub apart and found the outside wheel bearing had spun inside the hub so i'm buying a new hub tomorrow when the money hit's paypal and a outer bearing for that side and she's road worthy again :)
i got the best rotors advance had for $83 for both :p i love being able to get a shop owners discount :p
