Yeah it sounds like you need to adjust your valves and the sound when you shut it off is normal, I'v had mine for 8yrs and it's always sounded that way when I shut it down

Its the starter clutch, don't worry about it until it goes out, but until then its normal. The real fast ticking is your valves. Check the gaping on them and check your timing while your at it. Didn't really sound to loud to me though so it all shouldn't be far off if any.

As far as the revving goes. Your idle is set WAAAAY to high. What that vid shot with your choke out? Drop you idel down and if it sticks open, then your slide is all gummed up in your carb. Time for a carb clean. Gas turns to goo if you let it sit for to long and if its not quality gas.

Mine makes the same exact noise. Ive only had the quad for 2 weeks. I just checked my oil and there appears to be metallic shavings in the oil, i thought it may have been related to that clunking sound. But you guys are sure that noise is normal? What exactly is the starter clutch? How do you fix it BEFORE it goes out lol?

If you pull your clutch cover and look in at the lower bottom left of that case, thats your starter clutch. It pops out when the starter is engaged to turn the flywheel. To replace it, you have to pull the clutch and afetr that I think is a clip or something that holds it in there.

DeadLast the information you gave is a bit wrong. The starter clutch is behind the Stator side cover bolted onto the flywheel. And if you are going to replace your starter clutch, you should also replace the gear that slips into the middle of the starter clutch.
