Need some help with my 88....

Thanks guys, I'll check the valves out once I get this thing apart.
I'm really curious to see what exactly is the problem. One thing that makes sense as far as the ring problem is as I was trying to crank over the motor I kept see exhaust gases coming out of the crank case vent. Just wondering if I have some cracked rings.

That's normal the piston coming back down pushed air out the crank casses it sucks it back in on the upwqrd stokes

Yes agreed. Just seemed like an excessive amount of smoke/exhaust I never notices before. Then again I haven't had this running in about 8 years so I could be mistaken. thx
