need someone to answer a simple carb question, I have a picture.

I stole this pic from another member.
I have a question about the rod coming out of the bowl. In my 96 warrior carb it looks like this but in my 2000 carb its much more pushed in. Is looks like it is supposed to come in contact with the thing the throttle cable attaches to. in my 2000 carb(the one i run) it doesn't touch that at all. Someone want to fill me in on what this means?

Thats your accel pump. Take the spring out of a clicker pen and put it under that plunger and re assemble the carb. That will take care of it not coming in contact.
