So im replacing a lot of stuff on my quad, for the first time so of course im running into problems.

I just got new front bearings and installed them now the tires dont seem to flow as easily as the old wore out bearings. is that cause the new ones are a better fit and tighter i assume?

also i have no more front brakes anymore after trying to change the pads.

I took off the right side and installed em no prob really just a little bit of scrapping i dunno why the pads rub on the rotor????

but on the other side i installed everything the same way but the left side u can barely spin the tire!!!!

i compressed in the piston all the way in and installed the nwe pads and as soon as i tighten the 2 caliper bolts the outter most pad rubs on it like the rotor should be on the spindle farther, (ive tryed getting it in more but its right where the onld one was and there is no more room to go in any more.)

also i realized after installing the the pads i guess this little bracket fell of that is inside where the pads go is this bad or can i leave em off.

and also i cant get no pressure in the brake lines either!!!! wtf.

any help would be appreciated. oh and also after reading around it said to use only brake fluid dot4 and i used dot3 is that bad.... fml any ideas?

Just re bleed them. And yeah, your gunna have some rubbin on new pads but that thin layer will wear off. The new bearings should spin nice and smoothly?

If the new bearings are cold they could spin a little tight due to the grease in them being thick. When I say"cold" I mean like if your garage is not heated and the bearings sat out there. Its typically below freezing at night on the east coast. Just my .02.

Maybe there just not spinning much cause the new pads I installed. So you guys think I should just run the bike with that one side rubbing on the brakes like that? I mean it's pretty snug Haha.

Also u think I should replace the fluid with dot 4. That one side that's running alot. The piston wouldn't go all the way in so i took it put and cleaned the surfaces I

next time I woundn't diconeect the brake lines, just take the cover off the master cylinder and then compress the piston, you get some overflow but it saves the time of bleeding them. That's how I do all my vechiles

Changing brakes on these things are very straight forward...and wheel bearing are too... as long as you press them in all the way. you shouldn’t have any scraping which would cause the wheel to not turn. (head scratcher)

Ya I know. Iv done them before. But never had this problem.

I pressed in the bearings the way with the wheel seal and greased the fitting inside the hub. Does it matter that I left out the little bracket that faces the caliper that thin price of metal with 2 holes in it?

That may be the shim...so that will matter. Also. DOT4 fluid is recommended but DOT3 will be fine.

Ya it fell put and I didn't know how to replace it. It just rests in the back on that piston correct?

Gonna put that in tonight then! Then buy a flywheeler puller. Why they fort ve so expensive for such a little tool! Haha.

Where did glyph get yours? The local shop here wants over 50 bucks haha

well i got the little spacer on and everything put together the right side is nice and smooth but the left side man its so tight for some reason

the pads are so tight for some reason. do u think its a bad caliper?

I wouldn't run it anywhere, no way.

You have something assembled incorrectly... maybe the caliper bracket...maybe switched the left and right sides?? Or upside down? Are the pins perfectly clean and lubed?

Calipers should NEVER drag like that. They should float freely, always.

thats what u thought... i dunno everything is the way its suppose to be assembled i double and triple checked... i will try once more i guess if not im just gonna go out for a little and run them pads down haha oh well.

Compare them and see whats different. Make the right is setup like the left. They should just very barely miss the rotors. I know on vehicles they have a ever so slight drag.
