I have a 2000 warrior (k&n filter, pre filter, white bros exhaust, and jetted) that started using oil (about a quart per fuel tank) and noticed a lot of metal shavings in oil filter, so decided to rebuild. Now that its completely apart and have found no signs of metal wear anywhere I have decided to build warrior (since everyone I ride with ride Banshees, 450R, or 700R) so i can keep up. I sent my jug to get bored for an 85mm JE piston and I decided not to stroke it. I also plan to send head off for hot cam and valves. My questions are what else should i plan and replacing or modifying to work well with mods above? Also I plan on replacing shocks for 660 rear and banshee front, is this a good mod? Also thinking about moving headlights close to bumper an make a air induction where the headlight normally are, any thoughts? I realize this is a lot to read but any input is greatly appreciated about anything i have said. Thanks.

Is it burning, or just losing the oil? Why not stroke it, you'll want that torque to get the heavy beast moving, and that's where you get most of the displacement from. If you are going with a hotter engine also look into the oil cooler mod (should be a sticky in the tutorial section). As for the cam, I've read that many recommend the WEB cam over hot cams. Honestly I'm still running stock, but its what more people seem to have gone with around here. The shocks are alright, the 01 raptor is an upgrade, but I believe the banshee will not be anything better than stock. Depending on what you are looking to do, suspension upgrades are key to going fast, and most here recommend works shocks if you have the coin. Suspension alone will make you faster than motor work (esp if you dont plan on going in just a straight line).
As for the rest with the air intake, someone around here did up some scoops like they have on 250R's and the other race quads. May want to look into that as well if you are looking to direct airflow around the head/cylinder.

That is really odd to find all those shavings but no wear. May want to check your clutch because if someone destroyed that then that may be a source of the shavings. Regardless though that is way too much oil to be using per tank.
Check out the head too, make sure its not cracked anywhere, or warped. You should not need to send it out unless you want it ported. Doing the cam / valves / springs is actually an easy task. Hardest part of it all will be to time the cam (which is also simple) after you reinstall the head.

Or just do a headlight setup like what im running it works great and gets rid of them ugly stock lights. And as for the banshee front shocks DONT do it, its not even worth it they are almost the same as stock front warrior shocks.

banshee shocks actually are better than the stock fronts to make them a worthwhile upgrade, but don't expect miracles, they still lack a alot. also dont do a hot cam, your better off getting a webcam and better springs

Where is the best place to purchase a webcam in your guys opinion? Also i plan to have kibblewhite bigger valves and port/polish work to the head.

Think about adding the oil cooler mod as well, It will help in the long run. Good possibility that those shavings are from your clutch if you see no wear elsewhere. If you can afford the P&P and an overvalve job, do it. Its well worth it! Might as well replace the cam chain wile you at it to. Banshee rear is a good upgrade, but if you lookin to make the rear sit up a bit higher and also have the aftermarket feel over the stock the 660 is a great choice.

You plan on running stock carb?

That's another question. Would you change the carb or use stock carb jetted different?
