please help chappperall 135 hp

Hi, you guys are awesome with engines so i though that i would post this here my dad has a 93 chapperall 180 sl 3.0 mer cruzer 135 hp i do all the work on the boat and we were useing it today it was runing great then we put the boat in nutreal to change from wakeboarding to kneeboarding and it just started to put a lot of smoke out of the exhaust but only when the engine is idleing i check the temp 140 like always then i checked the oil up to the full line so we towed the boat back to the dock and havent started it since we have no idea what it could be any one got any suggestions would be very helpful thanks

Pull the spark plugs, look for an abnormally clean one.
Then do a compression check for blown head gasket or cracked head/block.

Let us know what you find.
