I assume he left the floats how they were , wouldn't that cause it to flood, instead of idling fine but smoking?

forget the smoking right now first you need to get it running properly then we can figure out the smoking!!

will it slowly rev up or not at all? if it wont rev when you stab the throttle thats a different prob!

It will slowly rev up to about probably 1/4 full throttle then it bogs down or stalls, but if I punch it , it won't do much but bog right down or cutoff

I can drive it around in 1st with slight throttle , maybe 1/4 ?

Is there a way I could post a video to the forum of it running and giving it gas

mine was lean. It will idle fine for a few seconds then rev up again if the pilot jet is too small. If it smokes all the time til its probably rings, but if it smokes until it warms up it could be valve seals or lean

How much is a reasonable price to pay for rings to be replaced?? And woudnt it be just one ring? Also how much for valve adjustment ?? Just a guess

Are you mechanically inclined at all? If you don't feel comfortable doing the rings then you can save money by pulling the engine youself and taking it to an atv shop. Then you can do stuff to the chassis while it's apart. Clean it up check over everything grease the zerks etc

Yes I am, that's an excellent idea . Thanks for all the help, I'm just wondering when I get the engine back , am I still gonna have that restricted throttle prob
