Alright, I've got a buddy's warrior I'm trying to get running right. Just came from the shop; had valves adjusted, new chain, rear adjusters, skid plate, etc. installed. Ran fine on first night back, but now it's developed a miss at anything above 1/4 throttle at idle (haven't had it under load, but it was doing this before and that was reason for it going into the shop in first place). Anyway, it starts right up and idles fine, but when given throttle it will pick up and hold then sputter once pick right back up, sputter once and so on. I'm kind of at a loss. Checked plug wire, re-attached loose plug cap, checked connections at coil, pulled the plug, etc. Nothing helped. Plug looked good, mid-range gray-brown color that shows good combustion, but it was wet and smelled like gas.
Makes me think it's not getting spark on every stroke.
Could this be a bad coil, cdi box, plug, ??? or am I looking at something carb related like bad accelerator pump, or slide assembly. Really only experience with vaccuum carbs is on my 400 twin bike and they are kehein. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, James.

Check the parking brake for adjustment if it is stuck/out of adjustment ect it will act like a rev limiter and cause it to sputter and pop when you give it any gas above idle

Also if it's not the parking brake check the reverse linkage is adjusted right, that'll cause it to do what it's doin too.
