Hey everyone. My axle bearings are being a pain and will not fit back into the carrier right. The side with the brake caliper has plenty of room for the bearing and seal. but on the sprocket side, the bearing doesnt fit all the way (hangs out maybe 1/8in), so the seal and dust cover definately are too far out. I tried putting the axle nuts on (only 1 will fit right now) to pull the bearing in and its just not doing it.

There is steel that looks to be part of the carrier blocking the bearing on the sprocket side but leaves plenty of room on the caliper side. Do i need it to be pressed or what?

Please share your knowledge!!!

Thanks a lot,
Pat

thanks for the concern/help octane. I ended up getting it fixed yesterday before I could log back in. ;D It ended up being the outside ring of the old bearing that fused to the carrier. The bearing was so shot it looked like the metal band that goes areound the inside of the carrier. I took a propane torch, stuck a prybar next to the fused bearing and my friend took a few wacks on the prypar and next thing i knew my red hot bearing was a projectile lol
