A buddy of mine just has a 2006 raptor 350 and recently decided to purchase a edelbrock carb for it. He has offered me his old carb which is perfect stock conditon for $100.00. Now I have a 2004 wolverine 350 that I just installed a 366cc kit and 88 grind cam and am now looking to upgrade my carb. Would the raptor carb be and upgrade over my stock one? I know both the engines are pretty much the same so would the jetting in the stock raptor carb be a good starting point in the wolverine? Also what would I need to make it work on the wolverine?

Depends, which model carb does that Wolvy have? I seem to remember a 34mm Mikuni, maybe a BSR?

If thats the case, the 36mm BSR from a Raptor would be a nice little upgrade, it would be nice match for a 366 setup, especially with a good exhaust system and intake setup.

Not sure on the boot or airbox fitment though...

Besides the intake/airbox boot issues would there be anything else i would need mechanically speaking? How would the stock jetting of the raptor be with the wolverine in terms of a starting point?

As a starting point, the stock jetting should be fine. You can go up on the main, and shim the needle as needed, depending on your intake and exhaust setup.

What do you plan on running for intake/filter, and exhaust?

The airbox and intake will likely be a problem, and you might need a new throttle cable or even throttle assembly, plus the intake boot off a Rappy too.

Here is what I have so far 85mm 10.75:1 piston, Web 88 grind, P&P cyl head(mild), Kibblewhite springs, Hmf sport series, K&N w/ proflow adapter, drilled airbox lid, Dyno jet kit (160mj) and an EPI Clutch kit. I found a small hole in the diaphram on the wolvy carb which cost around $100.00. I figured I would try the raptor 350 carb for $100 instead of dropping $400.00 on the edelbrock or $100.00 on a new slide for the wolvy carb. I know the carb will fit in the intake boot of the wolverine just fine the airbox boot is gonna need a little heat but looks like it might work. Is this a worthy task performance wise or shoud i just redo the stocker?
