i was just wondering what is the point of that wishbone rear shock linkage thing what does it do why not just bolt the shock straight to the swing arm?

Hah...its all relative to angles and geometry. Then you condense the shock, it moves back as well. Also with the wishbone there it gives you the benefit of having a longer and larger rear shock, so more travel and smoother ride.

ok that makes since ^^ is anyone using a raptor 660 rear shock? i was thinking about gettin one

Those are your 2 choices... unless you go aftermarket.

I have the banshee... its a big improvement over the stock pogo stick of a shock.

Its also easier to find and cheaper than the raptor. You will have to mod the airbox to get it to fit.

I had a stock 660 shock and an aftermarket banshee shock. Simply because of the length and the piggyback reservoir, i liked the banshee shock better. It's a cleaner installation and it keeps the ride height the same as stock. Performance wise I can't compare because my banshee shock was a WP aftermarket one that was presumably valved for MX. I say a banshee rear is the way to go, just try to get one that's not more than a few years old. As shocks age their performance deteriorates and they become more prone to leakage and breakage.

ya but the thing im lookin for most is to set the seat up higher than stock

i wouldnt mind my seat to be up a little bit too.. im interested

im kinda fat for these bikes so the extra height will help me not look like a fat guy on a little bike

Go with the raptor then.... But this is a sketchy mod..

The raptor rear shock was never a good idea to me whatsoever. I alters to entire geometry of the rear end. You never going to be able to keep your chain tightened right. Added stress on just about every other rear end part also..

The Rappy 660 shock should stay on the raptor. The banshee shock is nearly identicle to the warriors in length and size.... its just valved better and has a piggy back rezzi..

The raptor 660 shock is one of those mods just like putting YFZ450 shocks on the Front of the warrior.

I've noticed alot of new members have them... and i hate to tell all of you but it wont be long before you drop a balljoint into the ground and go flying through to air either ending in serious injury or possibly Death. YFZ shocks are incredibly too long... anything but warrior and banshee shocks shouldnt be put on the warrior period. And you can say whatever you want... its a proven fact that YFZ shocks will eventually pull your lower balljoints right out of the sockets and if you moving your going to go for a ride and most likely get hurt... or be very sore.
