I didn't want to but looking like I have to. Here is the story just bought this 88 cheap one of the problem is someone broke the inside exhaust stud off and tried to drill it out like a dentist doing a root canal, looks like my best option is to tear the head off and get it filled then re drill and tap it and install a new stud.
What i need is the cheapest price on a cometic gasket set, a set of rings and a timing chain, and maybe if any of you guys have a higher compression piston used laying around in good shape for a good price.
here is a pic of the quad half tore down some D bag tried to paint it assembled so it is chipping every were, good little winter project.

Gaskest are gaskets, you pay full price for them, specifically if your buying a branded kit. Cometic site has their prices on it.

Timing chain is sorta the same as well. Buy new and OEM or DID.

Rings are cheap and most any piston company will sell just the rings for a specific bore.

I think 87 on here has a head and piston for sell. Check the for sell section.

hey hey hey thats me! i have a cylinder and wiesco piston for sale. the bore is 83.5. so its .020 over stock. it needs rings and the cylinder needs honed....

85mm is stock so that's actually ony .5mm over bore. 84mm is .020 and 85mm is .040

It would make it a 353. 84 is 357 and 85 is 366. ((random facts for yah brain goo))

hey dead, 85 mm is plus .080, 84mm is plus .040 and stock bore is 83,,,, and matt i woould go with the k&s gasket kit, cheap, have everything, head gaskets are an 87mm so easily clears a 85mm piston and i have never had one leak yet....

.080? Ive never heard of that.

I was always told and read that 85mm is the max .040 you can go on a stock cylinder without sleeveing.

ya 85mm is .080, not alot of companies make them still because it really cuts alot off of they cylinder, and the most you can take a stock jug is .090 but then you have to get a custom piston made for it, anything over that is a new sleeve
