rebuild snag

Hi all, i have a bit of a problem with my rebuild. i have a 98 yfm frame with an 02 motor on it, everything was going well until we started tp put the ignition together. took the side case off an low and behold no stator..... starting looking in to the situation further and found out that the stator harnesses are different between the 02 and 98.

so my question is, should i buy the 02 stator or should i go with the 98, and what of these plugs? should i just rewire the thing to meet the 02?

hello... you should get a 98 stator... final answer... you never wanna cut and splice wires if you dont have to,, theres is not perfomance advantage for the 02 or anything.. they just for some reason decided to put different plugs on them to mess with people


you are sure its a 98 wiring harness right?

Go with what year your wiring harness is off of. Cutting and splicing can cause issues

GO with what ever your harness is for. Save yah a lot of time and headache.
