whats the secret to removing the six allen bolts that hold the one way bearing on the flywheel? im afraid to heat it because it looks like the fly wheel has some kind of composite that will surely melt

well thats what i thought too but they are pean'd in and apparently lock tited... because they are tight as hell and im afraid of stripping the puny allen heads... just wondering what kinda experiences anyone else has had with them..

Use a air powered impact for best results. You'll risk stripping them much more if taken out manually.

yep, i have had good luck using an impact for the small allen head bolts like that. It looks like such a small bit on a big impact wrench would instantly strip it, but as long as you use moderation and most importantly have a very tight fitting bit, it should work fine. I usually try to lean the impact at an angle so the bit is cocked sideways some and fits even tighter that way.

If that's working, a small chisel and a hammer can work well for freeing up stuck bolts. Just get a little groove in the face and hit it at an angle to back it out.

alright i was afraid to use the impact because i figured it would snap the bits... but i guess ill try it.. maybe ill get lucky or maybe ill be buying a new bit
