Sorry to hear that Dave, I know what you're going through.
It hasn't been a good year for my family. Lost my grandma to cancer, lost grandpa to a stroke, and my cousin has been on life support the last couple days because of a bad car accident monday, and they made the decision to pull the plug today. I just keep telling myself it's gotta start getting better soon.
Sorry to hear about your gramps. You were lucky to get to know him so well, theres alot of guys who dont get that chance for one reason or another. He was lucky to have family close by that cared about him. A few years back I went to my friends mothers funeral at a Lutheran church and instead of calling it a funeral or a memorial they called it a " Celebration of the life " ceremony. They felt that you should celebrate all the time you had with the person versus being sad about their passing. That service changed the way I looked at things. Hang in there.
Sorry to hear that dave. My grandpa was diagnosed with colon cancer around June. The tumor was 18 inches long. It has now spread to his liver and he is in really bad shape.....
Thanks guys, tomarrow is church and burial day. Also at the burial the V.A. will be there as he was a WWII combat vet, there will be taps played and the American flag will be handed to my grandmother, and a nice brass plack honoring his services will be placed at the foot of the head stone, not sure if were having the 21 gun solute though.
