running rich

I think Im running rich ,after rebuilding top end and carb and installing a 150 main with a e series pipe and white racing foam filter, my spark plug is black ,not wet, just lots of carbon. what do I need to to do? carbs are my weak point:argh:

also I have no holes drilled in the air box

Sounds like you need to go smaller on the main. But I haven't worked on carbs like this with accel pumps. But it should be the same as the others I worked on.

either go smaller on the main or open up that airbox some to even the mixture up a little.
