Ok, basically I'm hoarding away some parts for a build. I have my Megacycle .450, I ordered my Kibblewhite spring set, I ordered my new clutches (thanks Weston) & just for giggles I ordered a Vito's +4 timing key.
I really can't make my mind up as to whether or not I'm going 366 in my build but in the mean time I need to put a set of rings in it, it's down on compression & it uses oil. My question is who offers a good replacement ring set that fits the stock piston? I don't wanna spend a ton of cash b/c it's just temporary until I do the 12:1. Oil is too expensive to send out the tailpipe!

not tring to hijck the thread but i wonder if total seal would make some rings for these motors

X2 on the Namura set. My standard bore was nice and scratch free, round, with no ring ridge. Stone honed it (not ball hone). No problems.

Dammit, idk what to do, I just measured the piston clearance & I can get about .009 between the cylinder & piston on just one side. This is with no rings on it & it just in the bore at tdc. So that's .0045 on the side clearance & my manual says .00157-.00236 is what piston clearance should be. Damn, cylinder looks great too:(

.004 is the most I would run with a new forged piston. The problem with cylinder wear is more about taper than necessarily wear. Usually it will be worn at the top of ring travel. Ring seal is compromised if the taper is too much.

I might just 366 the damn thing. I read that a 366 JE that's marketed as a 10.5: is more like over 11.1, something liike 11.4:1. That seems a bit high but I guess it's possible. It prolly is atleast 11.1:1 w/o the base gasket.

Where's the cheapest place to get the 366 kit? Piston, rings, head gasket, the whole 9yds.

ebay was the cheapest deal i found. look for an "or best offer" deal and shoot it low. i got the piston kit (no gaskets) for $159

i had alot of issues with that. in fact im still waiting on it. i got a kit thrugh alba for $68 shipped but if your in a hurry i would try factory direct
