Has anyone retrofitted a smaller diameter rear brake rotor onto a warrior? I have to question Yamaha’s sanity on using a larger brake rotor on the warrior than the banshee. ground clearance is nice and any extra is even better.

Yes, it's possible, it just involves swapping out some parts from an 88 or 89, which used the same size rotor as the banshees and raptor 660's. You'll definitely need the axle carrier, which among other differences, has a shorter mounting tab for the caliper. I can't really say for sure as i've never done this swap myself, but you may need the 88-89 rotor hub and caliper to make it work. Do some researching and see if they look the same between the older and newer years.
