Over the winter i changed my oil and spark plug and cleaned my carb in my 03 Warrior. I had to leave it sitting without oil for a while because i had to drill/easy-out the damn drain plug b/c it stripped out and had to wait for a new one. Now when i start it, it smokes and gives a loud knock and tries to die. Once its warmed up it seems to run fine. What's going on here? Is it b/c i left it without oil for a bit? Don't know where to start.

Also, I already took off the parking brake switch, does the circuit need to be open or closed. I just unplugged the connector and left it.

hmmmm, not to sure about what your talking about with the dam drain plug, are you just talking about the normal drain plug for hte oil on the bottom of the cases? and letting it sit without oil does sound like bad deal to me possible one of your crank bearings or somthing along the lines of that is the problem. and i wouldnt worry about that parking switch, (your talking about the one in the clutch lever right?)

oh, and i just thought of this, when you leave engines sit for a while, you normally wanna put some oil in the cylinder, its possible that the piston had slightly started to seize to the cylinder wall, but when you started it, it broke loose, i would staart by removing the head, then turning it around, and feel the cylinder for any rough parts.

Yeah, I'm military and had to leave for a bit in the middle of the maintenance. I'll probably start by checking that out. Yeah, i meant the parking brake on the clutch. I just took the button switch off.
