might have to wire lights directly to a battery and charge it ass needed, and is he includeing a wiring harness for that motor? coil? If not you might be better off finding a doner bike

the it490 has lights as well so should able to interchange the stators..... and elwood is right you should see it the guy is going to throw in the wiring

It was attached in the pics, nothin to it really, wiring to the the cdi from the stator is all there is to it... I'll need to get a cdi at some point, this isn't gonna be overnight so I don't have to have every piece at once. The IT stator sounds like a good idea though, thanks.

Eh, I don't know what's up with this cat, starting to piss me off a lil! He dicks around & doesn't half respond to txt, blah, blah, blah. I made a specific request about payment last night & didn't get a response, half way through today he hits me & says btw, I sold the slide out of the carb to a guy in Australia. What, really, anyway, I told him I didn't want the carb in that case & went back to my original offer of $275. Haven't heard a word since, oh well, woulda been a cool project but I'm not kissin anybody's ass over parts!

Another thing that's a major pisser is I can't seem to find a decent swap engine, I'd like something affordable but still with potential & honestly something atleast 350cc's. I hear the KTM 380 is pretty awesome, anybody know much about it? I wanted to stay Yamaha but like I said, I want atleast 350cc's.

pre ('98ish) KTM parts are a bitch to get. badass bikes! i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE KTM! Best bikes ever built IMHO. but older ones aren't worth the trouble

The 380 lived from '98-'02 right? Am I biting off more than I can chew to get parts for it? What about a bored & stroked YZ 250? (2 stroke) I know we've talked about these a lil & some people don't like em b/c they aren't counterbalanced or somethin but this a toy, it needs to be badass when I want it to be badass & the Warrior isn't light & neither am I, (6'2", 230lbs) I know the 250 setup is lighter & will set back in the chassis a lil further so that'll help some. Weren't early '00's 250's pretty powerful?

Taking a 250 out of a 200# frame and into a 400# frame may be disappointing. Might not be worth the welding rod and grinding disc.
Suzuki had 250R's.
Honda had 250R's.
No fabrication required.
Meh.

If it were me, I think I'd want it to be shocking, stunning. Something that would make you spontaneously say the F word when whacking the throttle...

But that's just me.

the most powerful 2strokes was produced from around '82 ish (depending on the first water cooled bikes for the make and model) through about '86. on honda the hardest running fastest CR's was built in '84 and '85... after '86 the government started putting heavy restrictions on 2 stroke bikes and they changed odds and ins like power valves to cut the power down. Not saying new 2 strokes aint powerful but sit your ass on a mid '80's race bike and hold on . i'm going to stand by it that Honda made the BEST jap 2 strokes out there! i still say find a water cooled engine and my vote is still a cr500 or a kx500. you WONT be disappointed
