I'd add a tooth to the front sprocket even if it's stock. A Warrior/Rappy 350 from a dead stop in second gear can flip over backwards if you give it a bunch of gas and let the clutch fly. That's way more torque than you really need. Have you ever noticed that first gear is pretty much useless??? One tooth up in the front and you'll be surprised how much more you can use first gear. Even the steepest hillclimbs around I'd pull in second gear on mine until I changed the front sprocket, it's how Yamaha should have done it from the beginning...

I dissagree with you.

Disagree all you want. You have a six gear transmission, why only have five that are useable??? That's what you get from the factory, five useable gears and one useless one. One tooth up on the front and that gear is now useable, each gear is longer, and you added a few mph. Drop a tooth and now you have basically two useless gears....

BTW, don't mean that to be a smartass.

You'd be surprised at how much low end you'll still have.

So you're telling me you have a pipe, filter, jetted (I'm assuming), and hi compression piston and you feel you don't have enough power to pull a 14t sprocket? Serious question, again not being an ass.....

my buddys running a 15 tooth on his warrior and all it has is a pipe, filter, hotcam, piston, and jetting. i can use all the gears and still pull the front end up in third gear from a dead stop. you will still have all the bottom end you need

how many extra mph's will you get out of going up a tooth.

This is completely your opinion, don't come across like it's fact.
No **** I have a six speed.. where I ride the trails are so tight also big 4x4's that are in front of you that can just creep along with there auto's will change your mind in a second, I can promise you that. It's all where you ride man, this plays the biggest factor in choising the right gear set. If you are in the open then I'd have a 16t on the front. I've tried a 15t and even a 14t where I ride and it doesn't work. I'd rather be using first then using my sliping my clutch or stoping and starting all the ******* time. So yeah I completely disagree with you..

Come ride in PA and you'll see the tight, technical, rocky trails we have here. It's not all wide open. Why do you think so many GNCC pros come from PA? If you can ride fast here, you can ride fast anywhere. So I do know about the tight stuff you ride in. Read the posts above with the people who have gone up a tooth and say there's not much of a loss of low end, obviously I'm not the only one who has this opinion. If there was a substantial loss of low end I'd understand, but there's not. Let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that.....

The warrior bone stock needs the 13 tooth. Its perfectly geared from the factory, i use first gear alot dude, and right now my gearing is near stock (yes with all my mods im running a 14 tooth front and 20" tires) And i can still use all my gears.

Im soon upgrading to a 15.... this thing has an insane top speed now of 68+ maxed out after this ill be well over 70

I went down 1 tooth (12) on my raptor and for super tight trails it is great. Instead of having to feather the clutch all the time I can leave it in 1st and only use the throttle. This makes riding alot easier and extends my riding time by 1-2 hours. I rarely use 6th where I ride so I dont miss the lost top end. 1st gear is useless on wide open fast trails but I dont see much of that.

I don't know, I just find first gear totally useless. Even when I'd race it I'd take the holeshot in second gear and be out front every damn time. One benefit of a heavy front end...lol....rev the piss out of it and let the clutch fly. To each his own but when I had my Rappy I had absolutely NO use for first gear, anywhere. No hill was to steep, no bottleneck too slow, second could do it all.

I gotta admit Im kinda new to this sport so I dont ride as hard or fast as alot of you guys. The 12tooth benefits me because sometimes I dont have the balls or experience to go fast through certain sections. If I was a better, faster rider I would probably not want or need the 12t.

what do u guys think is the best chain to go with and what size sprocket should i get if i have a stock engine i want to be faster but still have bottom end
