Start tick

Hi, does anyone know why when you hit the start but it sometimes works and sometimes just ticks once? My friend is having this problem and mine has recently started to do this. Is it the starter? I looked it up and some said it could be there starter but I'm not sure. Anything to help. Thanks!

It is most likely bad connections either to the battery, solenoid or starter. Also could be a drained bat

yeah its likely not the starter. Look for a loose batter cable or loose connections on or near the solenoid. If all are right and clean, then the solenoid may be giving up.
