starter clutch?

so my starter motor wil turn the engine over till it gets near tdc, then it like just slips, and the motor will just sit there and spin, wiht no clungking or noises like that, to get the starter clutch to engage, i have to stop the starter motr, then pul it to the compression, then let it recoil back, then it engages, hit the starter, and it does the same thing over, turn a little then just spin, any ideas, is the clutch just roached (the clutch from wht i hear is just like a coaster hub on a bike for a warrior, i just removed the gear that goes form the flywheel to the starter motor for now, so i can just pull it over without the starter motor interfering

yep sounds like you need a starter clutch...

too bad, those are expensive, i might be able to find one on ebay. but i think ill open er up again and checkout the innerds of that thing again, considering its such a nice day out.
