starter help

i know its on here somewhere but didnt see it.... when you go to start it the starter spins freely like its not catching anything to turn the motor over.....

starter clutch is junk... aka one way bearing.. aka couple hundred bux and a hour or two... not positive on that but i would guess... either way you will have to tear the left side of the motor (stator housing) off and get a look see...

Well I wouldn't have started my thread if I had seen this one. My starter clutch never made that knocking noise, it just quit between one startup and another.

y remove stator cover? just pull starter and check it out
