starter problems

Hi I was going for a ride today and when i went to start it all i heard was a clicking sound. I shorted out the terminals on the solenoid and it still wouldn't start. So i took the starter out and it was full of engine oil. The seal on the starter is fine but I don't know why oil is getting in there. I think it is a bad seal somewhere. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Problem solved

After cleaning all the oil out of the starter motor, I put it back on and it started the first time. As for the oil getting in there it was a loose seal that i will replace.
