I was out riding today and my warrior just died. i tried til the battery got low to get it to re fire, had my buddy pull me got it to fire. after it would fire we would stop, with me feathering the throttle to be on the safe side. i could take off in first but the minute i put it in second and gas it it would die again, i check quite a few things. it gets a blue spark, when using the starter button. i did pull the carb and clean it out because i did find some sand in the accelerator pump, but it was to late for me to try starting it after cleaning the carb. I'm going to try starting it in the morning but if anyone has any good ideas that would be great and thanks ahead of time.

tried it this morning and no go. a buddy told me that if i look in the carb while operating the throttle that i should so gas shooting out is that true.

I would check and test the stator pickup coil and source coils for resistance as I believe there may be a problem there.

ive checked for spark when turning it over with the start button and it is getting a good blue spark. the spark plug is dry, i think im going to try fully cleaning the carb out

Ok. You've tried spraying starting fluid in the carb but still doesn't start?
You will still get a spark even if the stator pickup coils are bad.

Check the fuel petcock screen as well. If you turn the screw at the bottom of the carb and no fuel comes out then you know you have a restriction at the main float jet or petcock.

looks like the pick up coil is bad its reading 516 ohms but the source coil reads in spec at 295. i guess i start looking for stator.

I think you can just buy the pick up coil without buying the whole stator.

got the new pickup coil today, if its not raining like they are calling for i am going to install it and clean the carb ill let ya all know if it works.

well got the new rickys pickup coil installed and it still wont start even with starting fluid, im starting to think cdi. i need more ideas please help im going nuts not riding

well if it tests "good" but the reading is at the minimum spec, like barely good, then it could cause problems i would imagine since its borderline.

Yeah sometimes when a coil of wires gets hot or cold it will go open or short. Causing you to get good readings at room temp when when the coil gets hot it will be out of spec.

well the source is measuring at 302 cold. the chargings coils are meauring out of spec(high) would that cause my issues. this sucks the motor itself i know but i suck at knowing electrical.

Unplug it and see what happens.
The engine will run without the 3 white wires as long as you have 12 volts to it.
.8-.9 is spec.
Have you checked the new coil for ohms? Are you getting any spark now?

If you replaced just the pickup coil sometimes you have to flip the wires in the harness to get it to run.
