starting problem?

wats up newbie here so i just picked up a warrior got it to run person before me put a pull start on it also and its a 97 ran it rode it for half hour next day i try starting it starter just spins but motor not cranking u can hear something spinning in the stator case only same for when i try pull start ill pull it and motor will turn over slightly????

well looked at some vids of bad starter clutch and this may be the prob it does exactly what a bad starter clutch will do.

If you pull the starter out you can reach in the case and see if the gear spins freely both ways to verify it`s bad.
