I'm starting to like.. really get into modding my warrior.. I love it to death but I want to make it sort of a sleeper if you know what i mean... Right now Ive got a FMF Powerbomb pipe into a FMF Power core 4.. Every other website I have been to I just get the trolls saying "Buy a new bike etc. etc." but.. I dont want to, I love my warrior.. So anyway I want to get a Cam for it.. I was thinking a stage 2 cam from hotcams but I dont really know anything about this stuff, thats why i joined.. But I ride at the sand dunes 80%+ of the time so thats why i figured a stage 2 from hotcams. But i'm very new to this, and i'm sure that someone here has done this stuff. I would like input on how to do this and im not sure what all needs to be replaced when i cams.

drop in parts would be ideal, like a mild drop in cam so i dont have to replace everything right now, once i get a better job i plan on doing a total rebuild, but for now i would like to do drop in/ bolt on mods that help

welcome to the site, and as far as engine its pretty much stock? i dont think youll want to be doing much with the cam unless you start going up in bore and or compression. what have you done for intake, because that exhaust wont do anything unles you let it inhale easier, and rejet it accordingly. and have you read at all about the oil cooler mod for the warrior? it would be one good mod to start with

Forgot to mention my jetting.. I have a dial-a-jet and I cut some vents in the top of the airbox. With a K&N. I may need to cut some more holes in the air box, i think i might be running a little fat at the moment

Putting a cam in a stock engine is fine, it just wont offer as much as a modded engine. Though I say that, you would be better off holding off on the cam til you do some engine work and get a better cam like: webcam, poweroll, or megacycle. Hot Cams are decent, but if your gonna rebiuld for more power a little Id hold off til then. The 3 makers I stated require stiffer springs and will produce a bit more power.

Thats the problem. I don't know when ill get the money for all the engine work so id like to get a cam and springs for now. i know its not the best choice, but its what i want to do. as of now I just want a cam and valve springs. I am going to do an oil cooler soon as well, I have all the parts for it

Have you hit up any of your local engine shops yet to see what they would charge to any machining. A single cylinder is usually pretty cheap. How far do you plan to bore it?

I don't plan to bore it yet, just a cam and springs, just trying to know which ones I can get without having to get machining involved

why no machining? its is usually pretty cheap compared to the parts to have done

Dont you need a new rod and piston after boring? I wouldn't have the money for all of that

If your going to use a hotcam you don't need to change the springs that will save you some money, If your going to pull the valves and change the springs anyway you might as well have the whole head redone and ported. If you have 300 and you can do the work, I'd get the cam and a wiesco piston, If you can't afford the bore get the same size you already have. Harbor Frieght has a ball hone you hook to your drill cheap.

here is a stock bore weisco piston(you can read 83mm on the box in the pic) for cheap http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wise...rcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19c4ba4960

gaskets http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOP-...rcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27ba48a9cc

cam http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yama...rcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4a9fabcc90

That will make a big difference in power and the TOTAL PRICE IS $229.85 pretty fricken good for cam, a good piston, and the gaskets Oh add like 12 bucks to it for a hone at harbor frieght

Nvm i see it at the bottom.. With the hone from HF what would i need to do?

you should always hone it or have it honed, and if you have the stock bore on your warrior that piston wil work, if it has been bored in the past it will be to small

Engine is all stock, so Id just have to hone it and put all the parts on?
