Has anyone ever tried rhino lining or brush in bedliner on plastics? Wondering if you could get the rhino lining to hold to the plastic. I'm building a trail rider and thought it would look tough, but not sure it would stick...

After some research I think it can be done. What is the best way to get paint to stick to plastic? just clean and scuff or what? I just think a trail warrior that was rhino lined would look pretty sweet and set it apart...

there is bedliner on my effing blaster plastics and trust me, it is not worth it. if you really want to do it you really have to scuff it up, with 100 grit sandpaper. then wax and grease remover and then paint it with the bedliner. it will stick and never come off unless you REALLY try and/or abuse it. BTW i dont suggest painting it till summer time comes round. it wont cure right in this cold.

i figured out the added weight is too much to be worth it. plus yea a week to cure...i dont think so..

looks better than the faded oem plastics on ye old blaster i guess. still looks like **** though.

My bro did it to a raptor he bought because previous owner damaged fenders. It looks sweet new but once you get mud and sand on it, it's a pain to get clean.

you can polish the plastics with meguiars plastx clear plastic cleane& polish.

1. wash with dawn dish soap and nail brush
2. spray goo gone let set
3. scrap off with razr blade lightly one way
4.then start polishing
many need to repeat depending how dirty it is .

i will be trying a head light polishing kit next on my other plastics

Plastic prep

New to the forum and have read several threads about painting and coating plastics. Check out urethane supply company there is directions for painting atv plastics. I do custom auto paint and an occasional atv. I have used there products and with the right prep it will hold up to any abuse short of folding it in half. Most products designed for tpo plastic will work, it all comes down to prep. As far as bedliners, if you can deal with the weight of the coating, use a two part mix like actual linex or upol raptor. Stay away from the single stage stuff.
