Tapping noise?

I took the warrior that i just bought out for a ride today and it was making a tapping noise in every gear and at idle. I was thinking its probably something with the valves or rocker arms? What else could it be if its not that. It speeds up as the revs go up. Thanks in advance for any help.

You probably need to adjust your valves, but Warrior valves have always been noisy.

How tight is "tighter"?
Go much tighter than the minimum recommended, and you will only succeed in burning the valve seats, exhaust side first.

i was going to try that but i cant get the intake valve cover or the timing chain cover off because the previous owner stripped two of the allen bolts:argh:

Grind a slot in the bolts and use a screw driver.

then go to lowes and get some stainless replacements

While you're at it, don't forget to pick up a small bottle of Anti-Seize. Just a little dab'll do ya on every bolt thread, especially on the stainless. Any brand will do, but this is the Permatex:
