"Increased flywheel effect of steel plates improves power spread"

im looking to get the tusk clutch plates form rocky mountain and i got some questions. like what dose the quote at the top mean. whats the differince between cork fibers and kevlar fibers? can i do the etra steel plate mod with an aftermarket kit?

"Increased flywheel effect of steel plates improves power spread"

"Flywheel effect" is adding physical weight to the rotating assembly (crank/flywheel), making the engine rev slower and smoother. More weight can take an "explosive" power delivery (like a high strung 2 stroke MX bike for example) and make it feel like a street and trail 4 stroke.

That's a real simple explanation, but unfortunately adding a steel plate (that weighs next to nothing) won't do jack squat for flywheel effect. Call it Tusk propaganda. The added clutch face surface area is a small plus for longevity though.

well i just decided to get oem fibers and do the extra thin steel plate in the mixbut thancks for the explanation on the flywheel effect

which one is the thiner steel?

10168-16325-00-00 PLATE, CLUTCH 2 (T=1.6)$5.47 113J2-16324-00-00 PLATE, CLUTCH 1 (T=2.0)$8.81

Ok I know you already decided on oem but for futer reference kevlar hooks up the best but won't last for squat 6 months is good for a daily rider quark are second best at hooking up but will hold for forever I love the driveline kit best clutch I've ever run!! I run them in blastys warriors and kfx's and anything else that needs a clutch kit
