Ticking noise please help????

I have a ticking noise from my warrior and its not the valves checked them so i don't know what it is when i rev it like some throttle maybe 1/4 the way and it starts ticking in neutral and forward gears but after first gear and you get going it stops and is running like it is supposed to just don't know why. the help is appreciated thanks. i'm am still new to the sight i will try to answer back as soon as possible

Sounds like your drive selector lever is loose or out of adjustment. Does it ever tick and fail to move? What if the clutch is pulled? Do you feel a tapping on the covers? Is it matching the engine speed?

i think it is that the reverse lever rod is bent and doesnt go all the way and i had tied to adjust it
