I bought an '01 Warrior for my wife and boy is it a slug. The thing is in excellent shape, hardly ridden by the wife of the guy I bought it from. Anyway, what can I do to give it some balls? I tried looking here and searching, and found alot of useful info, but not exactly what I was looking for. Today, I drilled 5-1" holes in the lid and removed the snorkel. Gonna buy a decent filter, any suggestions? I was thinking about doing the jets but not sure what to go with. I ordered 147.5 & 150 mains and 45 pilot from jetsrus.com. Most riding in 0-3000 ft. What about dropping a tooth on the front sprocket? Any help would be greatly apprecaited, thanks.

if you drop a tooth on the front sprocket it will help for low end power, but like the Jacob said start with an aftermarket exhaust. the jetting will need to be done then. read thur some of the post on here they really helped me. oooo and btw e bay for that pipe.

Riding between 0-3000ft? Wow thats quite a big range of riding there, I ride at about 725-800 ft above sea lvl all the time. Your elevation will make a big difference in your jetting just keep that in mind. Dropping a tooth on the front sprocket will give you better low end but you will lose top end which is what the warrior lacks a lot of. I would start buy getting a good quality pipe/intake set up and go from there. If you'd like to go into the motor you can get a good 10.50-1 compression piston with a good cam/stiffer valve springs for a nice gain in power. You can go higher on the compression but I wouldnt go abot 11-1 unless you wana run a race gas mix.

We go riding at Pismo Beach(40 ft), Dumont Dunes(1000 ft), Glamis( 350 ft), and Jawbone Canyon(2700-3000 ft). Instead of dropping a tooth in the front, I'll prolly put smaller tires on. The factory size is 22, but they are like balloons. I'll go down to 20's and go with a flatter tread. Anybody already done this?

I got riding to Glamis alot, I been to Pismo it was fun.
I almost always use paddles and razors, there smaller then stock.

I went up one size on both the main and pilot jets. Runs stronger.

I run 2 sizes up from stock on both (Or somewhere around there) and I think shes running right on, my sparkplugs a cardboard brown and I have a K&N air filter (Opened lid) and a FMF powerbomb header and powercore 4 exhaust.

I will be drilling 2 1" holes on each side of my airbox and running plastic tubing out to the front of the bike for a "ram air" style intake and it might lean me out a hair but not enough for me to notice (I hope). I will be ordering a 14/39 gearing setup in a week or so and Ill figure out how that works out, if its to much im going to my stock 40 and a 14.

I run a flat (gbc mudshark) 20" tire and they say that going up 1 sprocket size (+3-5mph) will bring you back up to the stock baloon tire speed (62mph) while running your 20" tire. So far my warrior has been nothing but balls, just no top-end which is why Ill be doing my chain/sprocket combo.

Nothing special, again it's for the ol' lady, a DG RCM2 SLIP-ON w/ a sparky.

I hope you got a good deal on one, because if you paid retail for one of those things... then sorry for your waste of money, there are waaay better exhausts out there in the $200 - 230 range.

I paid $160. She doesn't need anything spectacular, just better than stock.

did you re-jet your bike yet? I just did mine after I put my pipe on......and originally i went up two on the main and one on the pilot then found that it was running bogged so I dropped it down one on the main and It ran a lot better, But even still as I ran it yesterday seemed that there was a slight grumble when pinned so I thinking Ill back it down to the stock? Is this normal. Running one up on a pilot and a stock main with an after market pipe and a Uni clamp filter set up. Does a lot of this have to do with the current weather situation here in Ohio?

if it's not running right when the throttle is pinned the problem is with your main jet, not the pilot. Try stepping the main to the size between the one now and the stock one.

Yeah, originally I went up two on the main. Then backed it down one so he main now is one step up from the stock (152.5). I think ill bump it back down to the stock 150. SO if I do that ill be running one up pilot and stock main. Thats where I was confused. Because of the pipe and filter I have on the bike. Is it normal to add that stuff and still be running so close to the stock set up? And how much will it change once the weather warms up? Thanks.

Stock is 147.5, so you're running 2 sizes over stock with your 152.5. There's where your confusion is coming from.
