id like to get some more pep out of my bike. i have a fmf exhaust, k&n filter, jeted to thos but i want more. i was thinking about pottin a new cam in but while im in there might as well do more:slayer:. so i was thinking a higher comp pistion and i got thinking why dont i just bor it out to. but then i was thinking if the carb was big enough for all this. what do you think i should do? i dont feel like having to buy a new carb and messing with that. so what do you guys think i should do? i got the $ just want to know what the best things to buy would be. also i would like to get some better peggs and heal gards what do you guys use?
thanks for the help mason

go with a wiseco or je high compression piston kit. you'll have to bore the jug .40 over to accomplish this though. after that if you want more upgrade the cam and springs and maybe port the head.

btw, the stock carb is good enough to handle the extra power, but it's not the best option. i'm running the stock carb on my je 366 with cam, hd springs, and ported head and it does fine. i'm like you though i don't wanna mess with tuning a different carb right now, maybe later on though.

how much do you think this would cost like $600-700

it depends on who you get it from and if you're doing the work yourself. i have $250 in just a bore and the je piston 366 kit and thats me putting it together.

figure up another cam, the springs and the port work is probably another $400. i bought my head already built so i only have maybe $500 bucks all together in the same setup.

I paid 700 for all my motor work shipped back to me. But thats with me doing the labor, the only thing the guy did was bore the jug, port the head, put in the bigger valves, cam, and getting all the parts. Setup is in my Sig. Runs like a rapped ape.

mbridgs2, off subject but have to tell you, love your sig
thanks man

i can build it up all by myself i have a bunch of friends that have rebuilt there trucks and iv rebuild my sled engine plenty or times. so ill do all the labor myself save some $. so if i get it bored, je piston, hd springs and new cam it will be around $500. will it wake it up a lot? or its it worth it to spend the extra 200 and have a bas a$$ engin like 87warrior? im used to a turbod 800 sled and after a few months with the worrior i want to get more out of it .

Trust me man my motor setup is badass compared to stock. Its got the power of a 400ex. You def. wont be dissappointed if you got that route.

When I was looking at doing the top end on mine, to get it honed, port polish, and the head milled down a little it was about 500-700 and thats just machine work. All the other labor was me. Thats not including the gaskets and parts, was going with a wiseco piston too, and rings. So total for a basic top end with machine work look at the most about 700, with you doing all take apart labor.

Check out advanced machining services. The guys out of Penn. and it included all his labor and all the parts, gaskets, EVERYTHING. All i had to do was put it back together.

your talking about http://advmachining.com/Warrior.html that website right? i was looking at the hi performance top end kit and it seems resinibul but i think this winter i was thinking with more power im gona wants better suspention and all thos goodies you need to have to have a fun time with the power. so this winter im gona work on new a arms longer swinger and better shocks what do you guys segest.

yep thats them, very good guys to deal with. I did the motor first but its up to you. Your right thou you gotta have the suspension to handle the extra power
