my bike wont start.how do i test my stator and what symtoms does a bad stater show.im working on the bike now and if you can reply a.s.a.p it would be appreciated.THX

if im not mistaken the stator is much like the alternator on a car... where it charges the battery while the motor is running, so if the stator goes out eventually the motor will run the battery dead pretty fast and it will shut off... there is a way to check it, im not for sure thou. do you have a manual that will show how and what wires to test??

take the plug out and ground it to the pipe, turn it over and check for weak or intermittent spark!!! push the start button and watch to see if it sparks at the beginning of /or when you release the botton!!! if you get a single spark when doing this its either the stator or the pick-up coil! and make sure that your grounds are good!!! and check the connection at the coil(orange wire) it plugs into the coil!!!

oh, and make sure that your emergency brake wires are not off!if that pin dosent work correctly,it wont start!!! just unplug the black wire& and the black&and white wire...plug them into each other(male/female) i had an issue once and thats all it was.they go bad all on thier own sometimes seriously!!!check it out!

did you have any symptoms on your last ride????? did it seem like you had carb issues? or it just decided not to start this time alone?

i bought the bike not to long ago.it rolls over great has bright blue spark.when i bought it it had bad compression so i installed new piston rings.does the bike have to have a clutch cable to run?

It doent need the cable as long as you have it in nutreal when you crank it over. I'd check your timing since you had the head off

i think ppl setting tdc on the exhaust stroke instead of compression stroke is most common mistake that ppl make (i have done it)

Well i got it running like a top now i set the timing 3 eights on the otherside of my cam mark.i need to fird a cheap muffler for it so if you have a muffler u wanta sell let me know.like i said im lookin for a fairly cheap one.

i have an black dg slip on you can have for 40.bucks. let me know.and you dont need a mid pipe with this one.
