hey guys, ok can you tell me what is wrong with this thing? is it an adjustment or incorrect jet size on the carb or something? the vid was takin after i rode it aroud the yard a bit so it is warmed up good. when i got from an idle to WOT it bogs, then it will clear and rev up good... but when i just crack the throttle past an idle and WOT it, it will rev up perfect with no bog or anything? i have a k&n filter w/ lid on, wiesco 10.25:1 piston(83.5mm bore) DG full exhaust, and the pilot jet is a 145 and the main is a 150. thanks

my '96 did that for a long time when it was jetted to rich but i have more engine mods and still run a 150 main in the summer. id say more than likely your K&N is over oiled and causing the engine to run really rich. try pulling the filter out and test it to see if it still happens. if it still happens it might be time to mess with the position of the main needle.

ah damn i bet its the filter being to oiled. i just recently cleaned it and reoiled it, prob about 3 weeks ago and it never did this before i oiled it.... will it hurt the motor? cause this friday we r goin on a riding trip and more than likely will be riding from sun up to sun down....

it shouldnt hurt anything but id definately clean it before you go riding cause itll run like crap and the hesitation will pop up at the worst times. had it happen to me going up a really steep hill and i almost did an endo cause of it

bikewarrior is probably on the right track with saying the filter is over oiled, but have you done the accel pump spring mod in the carb? that'll get rid of the hesitation when you *** the throttle.

you are still running the stock carb right? just take the bowl off and take the spring out. find an a click ink-pen and take the spring from it. compare the two and see the difference. make sure they are the same length, you can stretch it some if need be.

the stock spring just isn't strong enough in these carbs. it's a good free mod.
