Warrior clutch install

I just put a new clutch in my 93 warrior. The issue I am having is tightening the clutch spring bolts. How far do you run them in. I know they are supposed to be tightened in a criss cross pattern, but I am having no luck here.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They get tightened all the way in. When they are seated they should be torqued to 7.2 ft/lbs
