Can you pull the top end off one of these quads without taking the motor out?

Im getting a 2000 warrior and its in great shape. How do these bikes do in the nasty stuff.I ride with alot of utility quads.Im not looking to race just have fun on the trails.
What are the first things to do with a stock warrior with a slip on pipe? What gearing and jetting to start with etc..Thanks for any help guys.

Keep the speed up and they go well through the crap.

As far as doing the top end with the motor in the frame, yes you can do it- it'll be very tight though. But it's doable.

The motor is not very hard to pull out completely though.

You can pull the top end off with the motor in, but I wouldn't recommend it. You'll need 2 people and it's still a struggle because of the long head bolts.

I've done the top end on three warriors, never pulled the motor. The back two heads bolts come out first, then you tilt the head forward and pull the front two head bolts out in front of the streeing stem. Very easy

Well pulling it was no problem, getting it back in was a bitch. Maybe I just suck at this, but even with 2 people we struggled to get it lined up properly.

Thanks guys what about gearing and jetting etc...

Depends on your tire selection, if your going with 20s then a 14/39 sprocket combo gets you right on stock gearing of 13/40 with 22s or if your looking for more torque then go 14/40. If running 22s then stay with the stock 13/40.

If you install a pipe (most popular is HMF) and a K&N filter then getting to the jetting will be mandatory. The stock carb comes with a 145 main and a 42.5 pilot. So start off with a 147.5 and a 150 and see how it goes from there. I can tell you that pulling the needel up a space richens part throttle and ran better for me. Check this place out http://www.jetsrus.com/main_page.htm

147.5 and a 150 are you saying thats the main and pilot jets?Or do you mean 50 pilot? Thanks
