warrior start up= white smoke????

Hi All
Just wondering what the go is with my 03 warrior when i start it up from cold with choke it blows **** loads of white smoke :eek: and if switched off smokes like a barrel on a recently fired gun???? This is not a standatrd feature obvisouly but what could be causing this ?????

How is the weather where you are at? If it's cold out your exhaust is going to blow water vapor just like a car does in the cold until it warms up.

If it's actually smoke, it's probably oil burning, which should be blue-ish smoke. Most often heavy smoke at start-up is bad valve seals.
 
Sounds like it's time to do a top end rebuild! If you ride hard it is definitely about that time. Just be sure your mixture isn't the problem beforehand. Be sure to follow the book and definitely use the moly based assembly lube if you rebuild her. You want to definitely do a valve job too when you got it apart to avoid any potential problems. Is there any other symptoms such as very hard starts? Hold a sheet of paper underneath the exhaust and then something black to make sure the smoke is for sure white, if there's oil burning it'll be only faintly tinted blue. I'm willing to bet it's just time for a top end rebuild.
