Kreed.........input please?

A chest protector is a wise investment. I will not keep you from getting busted up if you land under you quad off a noce tabletop, but it will provide more protection than not having one.

I say regardless of why the label is there, keep it and where it- RELIGIOUSLY!

...right, Kreed?

Chitownpete, use it! They put warnings on them because they don't want someone to sue them for it breaking when they run off of a hundred foot cliff and land in front of a train...lol. I've heard many people talk about wiping out hard and chest protectors helping to save them.

A guy died at Durhamtown a while back when he ran off of a trail and hit a tree. What I read about it was that he hit a tree and his chest collapsed or something. If he had been wearing a chest protector it may have saved his life even if it broke. Why risk it? I did and was out of work for over a month and it still hurts to get into a truck or twist. Maybe worst of all, I won't ride until it heals completely so I'm looking at another month at least.

Here is what Durhamtown posted about the rider I mentioned earlier:

fatality 2 weeks ago info
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the 17 year old young man who died 2 weeks ago by dirt bike accident

I spoke with a nurse today who read the autopsy

he died of a rib punturing the lung and heart

he was not wearing a chest protector when he crashed it was not a very fast crash or careless action

when he slid out and slid into the 3 " tree he hit the handle bars in his chest his chest collasped into his lungs

if he had been wearing a chest protector he may have had a better chance of surviving by dispersing the impact

remember the chest protector is only a roost protector from rocks and debri but it can disperse energy to some degree

please remember to wear your safety gear for any prevention

A kid got helicoptered out of leota once when I was there because he flew off the quad and busted himself up badly on his friend's grab bar. The medics even told the others he would of only got minor injuries if he had a chest protector on.

When I broke my wrist I could of also fractured a rib since I landed on some unfriendly rocks, the chest protector had some nasty cracks in the lower left section where I landed, but it saved my ass.

Why were you wearing your chest protector on your ass............? ::)

your the only one that would think of doing that

oh,yeah my dad doesnt wear anything bit a helmet and sometimes goggles...onetime he turned too quick and fell ::)...it straightened out his back.
soo sometimes its good not to wear one sometimes
