Yamaha BW 350? CDI issues

[1988 BW 350]

Hello Everyone, new member here. I have a 1988 Yamaha BW 350 I am restoring and am having some electrical issues; which I believe I have narrowed down to the CDI unit.

Does anyone know if the older generation of Yamaha Warriors CDI units can be adapted to work on a 1988 Yamaha BW 350?

Love the bike and have decided to spend what I need to get the sucker going - its in good shape too - needs seat cover, chain guard and some new declas and she'd be sweet. Rode it twice before started experiencing these problems - just dropped $280.00 for new CDI unit, so hopefully that gets her going. Got a brand new whooly booger on the back as well -

ooo bad choice on tire, from what i see stock is best

With regards to the tire - it was on there when I bought it. It's sweet in the mud and snow but on dry ground it wants to stand the bike upright when u excellerate, do the wide flat contact point.
Def going to pick up a stock tire to be able to swap out.

Hello all - wondering if anyone has or knows where to get a carb joint / ar boot (front side of carb to cylinder) for a BW 350? I know, tough part to find, been discontinues from Yamaha, have searched the net and ebay and cant find anything -

Yamaha part# 2JN-13586-00-00

Or maybe you can suggest another air boot that will work - as far as I know it is a TeiKei carb 28mm.
